Cochin
shipyard Limited is an ISO 9001 certified company,
launched in 1976. It was the first Greenfield shipbuilding
yard in the country. The shipyard commenced ship repair
operations in the year 1982 and has undertaken repairs of
all types of vessels including up-gradation of ships of
oil exploration industry.
Cochin shipyard is spread over 190 acres of land and has
69 cranes for supporting its activities in Ship building
repairing and upgrading. 150 T gantry crane, which is the
second largest in Asia covers the whole of assembly shop
and building dock. The company is augmenting the facility
shortly with a 300 Ton Gantry Crane.
The yard has completed two offshore projects for Oil and
Natural Gas Corporation of India (ONGC), “ Clamp
–on-structures” at Bombay High, both ahead of schedule,
thus earning appreciation of the customers.
CSL is the only yard in India which can repair vessels
upto 1,25,000 DWT. With specialized industry knowledge and
superior resources, CSL has constantly unfolded new levels
of excellence in shipbuilding and ship repair. As a
technology leader in India, CSL has established tie-ups
with select specialist firms from near-east, far-east,
South-east, Europe and USA for technology transfer &
material packages for shipbuilding, ship-repair,
platforms, Rigs & Up-gradation of yard facilities.
